Hit the Floor actress Kimberly Elise graced a new ad from advocacy group PETA, promoting its campaign to raise awareness about the many health benefits a vegan diet may have for some folks.
Elise, who starred in American cult films Set it Off and Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman, shared her reasons for choosing a vegan diet, a selection of food that involves a heavy emphasis on plant-based products:
“I learned more about the abuses to animals and the way meat was brought to the table and everything that these creatures were going through,” she says, “it was just another motivation and reason for me to live the lifestyle that felt true to my soul and my spirit.”
The mother of two gushed over her energy levels and youthful appearance. “My energy is fantastic,” she says. “It’s helped me stay youthful-looking and [have a] certain energy and vibrancy that you get when you’re eating food that’s fresh from the earth.”
After eating vegetarian and now vegan meals for 15 years, Elise is proud to show off her flat abs and toned arms while advocating for PETA’s mission.

Good blog post. I’m not vegan but i am aware you need to eat right in order to live a healthy life.
Man, she looks amazing! And it makes you feel much lighter in spirit knowing that you are making a choice to opt out of the horrendous system that treats animals like unfeeling commodities. Matthew Scully put it best when he wrote about meat no longer being a necessity: “When you start with a necessary evil, and then over time the necessity passes away, what’s left?”
