I have heard that pretty women love to be insulted, reminding them of how shitty they are as people for capitalizing off their looks. Most of the time it is a man doing the shaming, but in a recent interview with REDBOOK, Gwyneth Paltrow shared how her celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson doled out her own version of insolence parading as motivation.
Speaking about the struggles to lose the baby weight after the birth of her second child Moses, Paltrow, 40, proudly stated how beneficial it was when Anderson stripped her naked and dispensed out this little gem:
“She pulled my pants off,” the GOOP founder recalls. “I’ll never forget it. She was like, ‘Oh, my God, wow, I am just so surprised, because you look so good in clothes. I wasn’t expecting this.”
It is wonderful to read stories of women acting like a jerk, but still looking like expert since men jockey to monopolize the shame market. Either way, Paltrow claimed that it was Anderson’s “no-holds-barred” way of training — which Anderson, herself, calls “unorthodox” — that gave her the confidence to make love to her rocker husband Chris Martin.
Anderson, who suffered from a mild eating disorder (she admitted she wanted a full-blown disorder) most of her adult life, wants every woman to feel the bliss of being broken down and built back up by a stranger, so maybe the closest person in a woman’s life (her husband) doesn’t have to do any of that dirty work — just, sit back and enjoy the ride results.
“When you feel your best, you’re more confident in bed,” Anderson explains. “It’s not lights-out, under-the-covers sex. It’s more like, ‘Take a look at this!'”
Someone please give Ms. Anderson a job on The Biggest Loser.
