The British actress’ battle with food began in her early teens as a ballet dancer when her meals would only consist of a diet of cottage cheese.

By her early 20’s, Newton came face to face with bulimia in after a series of emotionally abusive relationships. After seeking help with her disease from a therapist, Newton was able to free herself from both the hardship of unhealthy relationships and her unhealthy relationship with food.

  3. From the comments above, now we see why black women have such an image problem. Now unto the topic, I think Oprah should have prime time special about this topic surrounding her struggles with weight. I’d love to hear what she has to say about her mental state as it pertains to weight
