Sometimes we reach a point in our day when we hit a plateau and need an energy booster to keep us on track. Fast relief is often necessary to keep us from falling into an unproductive slump during the day. To help stave off those moments that can drain you of rest and your overall well-being, check out these three tips to help you feel better – in under five minutes!
Are you really stressed? It sounds cliché and old school, but all you need to do is relax and breathe. Close your eyes and inhale deeply through your nose, holding for five counts. Then exhale for ten counts. Repeat this for two minutes will reduce your fight-or-flight response and help soothe your mind to relax.
Have a banging headache? For instant relief, try stretching. Tilt your head towards your elft shoulder and pull your head gently with your left hand. Hold this deep stretch for about 30 seconds and then repeat it two more times on each side.
Zapped out of energy? Bring on the yoga. Lie on your back, knees bent, with your heels planted directly under your knees. Lift your hips and clasp your hand underneath your back. Hold for 30 seconds while breathing slowly. This will help your lungs expand fully enough so that there is more oxygen circulating to your brain and muscles.
