Do you eat hamburgers?
Well, if you’re a hamburger addict, it may be time to consider going vegetarian. The Center for Investigative Reporting has just released a short animated film explaining what you may not know… that livestock produces almost the same amount of greenhouse gas into the environment.
“From the end of the World War II to the mid 1970s beef consumption per person doubled,” says the narrator. “The U.S. is now the largest beef producer in the world.”
The video offers some astounding facts.
Did you know that it takes 1,800 gallons of water to make one pound of grain-fed beef? Or that cows are fed corn as opposed to grass (after Congress passed the Farm Bill), and in turn produce methane gas?
