Are you lost in the juicer wilderness, where there is a plethora of choices but you still can’t decide which one is for you? Or maybe you’ve bought into the late-night commercial hype of the latest & greatest, improved, do-it-all juicer, only to get it home to realize it’s not all that it was shown to be on TV.
Don’t fret, picking the right juicer is easier than it seems. Here are some tips and facts that are sure to guide you in the right direction.
Tip # 1: The Blender Vs. The Juicer
Many people purchase blenders that are promoted to do the same job as juicers. But don’t be fooled. Juicers are designed to extract nutrients from fruits and vegetables and deliver them in a pure, liquid form sans the fiber. While blenders are designed to liquify your fruits and veggies — a completely different function. When using the blender you will still get fiber in your liquid.
Despite the claims of many fad detoxing programs, the most successful detox programs require all fiber to be removed from the liquid before consumption. This allows the body to better eliminate waste because it’s not processing solid food. However, this is not to say that you cannot use the blender to make pulp-less juice. Simply strain your mixture through a nut-milk bag or fine strainer and “ta dah”- juice. If you recently purchased the magic bullet or even the Montel Williams blender, use it, add a bit of elbow grease and save yourself some extra scrilla.
