The remnants of hurricane Sandy are still prevalent along the East Coast as many are still without power, heat and water. As cities like New York continue to rally to clean up the damage caused by the powerful storm environmentalists are calling out the need for President Obama to take a greater stance on environmental issues and push policies that will push our nation towards cleaner energy.

“The president should begin by re-engaging a dialogue on climate change and identifying the actions needed to address the crisis,” said Andrew Steer, president of World Resources Institute, in a featured statement on the organization’s website. “The president should reject proposals that would over-exploit America’s resources, decimate its lands, or increase its dependence on high-carbon fuels.”
