David Goggins, a former Navy Seal, is going for the Guinness World Records title in “most consecutive pull-ups in 24 hours.” He is in the NBC TODAY plaza for the next 24 hours, attempting to raise as much money as he can for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation while trying to break the record.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides full scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who die in operational or training missions and immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations personnel and their families.
David’s personal mantra is show no weakness, a motto one would typically associate with an endurance athlete who probably aches and pains on the inside but can’t afford to let competitors see any vulnerability.
Either way, this should be an interesting feat for some of us who love to put ourselves through the rigors of pull-ups. If you’re in New York, stop by TODAY and lend your support.
