Sherlyn Chopra, will become the first Indian woman to pose nude for Playboy this November.
The Bollywood actress calls it an accomplishment, recently announcing in a press conference that she’s proud to be in the popular magazine,
“There is a difference between a porn star and a Playboy girl. Everyone knows there is a difference between posing nude in front of a rolling camera and having sex in front of one. And well, I have only taken the first step till now. This is my life, my body and my work. This is not a local magazine, it is the world-famous Playboy.”
Chopra, who proudly sports her nude body, has appeared in a few Bollywood films playing a seductress. She’s also released a few songs that has garnered her attention from newspapers such as the Hindustan Times, the local newspaper in India.
But this move will certainly separate her from the rest. Her email to Hugh Heffner about posing for Playboy was answered within three to four days, immediately catapulting her from local sensation to international superstar.
She told BBC News in India, “I had fun meeting him and his girlfriends. I am thinking of making him my idol because he lives his life on his terms and conditions. I also live my life on my terms and conditions.”
He’s seemed to rub off on her. The actress tweeted a picture of her with Heffner, saying,
“Thanks 2 all those who have applauded my choice 2 b free-spirited n 2 do with my life what I please 2 do. I’m answerable 2 no one but myself.”
What do you think about Chopra’s decision to pose for Playboy?
How is this relevant to Frugivore readers?
I would not consider taking naked pictures for the public an honor. If anything it’s the exact opposite, it’s disrespectful to one’s self. Showing your titts and ass to the world is not an accomplishment.
This is many things. An international accomplishment is not one of them.
Being the first indian women in THIS magazine is an accomplishment!! Im surprised it took so long! It shows that men are publicly accepting multiple types of beauty as sexy!! She is a sexy indian woman and she is showing that to all men (and women) who purchase this magazine. She is exemplifying the idea that you dont have to be a certain ethnicity to be considered sexy!! I applaud her!
