Yohan Blake, the Jamaican sprinter who’s come out the gate at full speed, won his second competition over Usain Bolt in the 200 meter race at the Jamaican Olympic trials this past Sunday. Blake, now a formidable opponent, finished at 19.80 seconds, which is .03 seconds from Bolt, the reigning champion who won the Olympic gold medal in 2008.
Blake’s first win was over Bolt in the 100-meter dash. Now 2 for 2, it appears that the young runner is poised to take over the Olympic champion’s crown.
But he is still a good sport.
The sprinter was the first to hug Bolt after his winning the race on Sunday, reassuring the press that it’s only a healthy competition,
“Usain always gives me a lot of encouragement and tells me to keep coming to this race.”
Who are you rooting for?
