Let’s just get this out of the way now. Janet Jackson looks amazing.
The singer is now a pioneer of Nutrisystem – a system which brings personalized meals directly to your door.
In December alone Jackson dropped 10 pounds, and has since sent out a tweet to thousands of her followers, saying, “Nutrisystem really works.”
But like most superstar’s that the media places under a microscope, she is under the watchful eye of scrutiny. Her weight, which has always fluctuated, gives power to the notion that Nutrisystem isn’t the only method of weightloss that has slimmed her down.
One semi-doubter resides in Laguna Niguel, California. Kelly Kehlet, a Registered Dietician, expresses her thoughts on the matter.
“I do believe that she lost it using Nutrisystem. Diets like that can be very effective in the short term, because they are so structured and are portion controlled. The problem with them is that they don’t always adequately address the issues behind overeating. If the person does not learn what causes them to use food to cope, and how to choose and prepare healthy foods in appropriate portions, they frequently regain the weight once they are off the diet.”
Jackson, who has been in the limelight since she was age 10, details that she was an emotional eater in her tell-all book, True You.
Well, admitting the problem is half the battle, right?
Another local resident, and president of a talent agency, Alice Kim Cowell, imagines that you need more than just portion control, “I would imagine that Janet Jackson was closely monitored with personalized coaches throughout the process, so to get similar results you would need to be self-disciplined. I believe that portion control, balanced diet and regular exercise is key to a lifestyle change and healthy weight maintenance.”
