In the #offthewall news of the day, in the last year Americans have been opting to completely update their profiles. And by profiles, I don’t mean the ones on Facebook.
According to the Daily News, a recent report from a plastic surgeon’s group says more than 20,000 people had chin implants in 2011 — a 71% increase over the previous year.
Although you may think chins are the furthest down on the list of important body-altering surgeries, the number of Americans lined up for the procedure is more than the amount of people who chose to get liposcution or breast implants.
One such woman, Lizette Stephens, a project manager for a software company, first noticed her profile could use a bit of sprucing up after seeing herself over a video conference.
“I noticed my profile was not looking so great,” the midtown resident told the Daily News.
After a local anesthetia and a bit of light sedative, Stephens chin implant only ran her around 4,000 dollars – relatively inexpensive when compared to other surgical implants.
“I’m very happy about it. It’s not that dramatic where you go, ‘Oh my God, you had work done!’ But you can tell the difference.”
What do you think? Are chin implants…all the rage?
