The music industry learned the reason behind Atlanta-based rapper Gucci Mane’s Twitter rants. According to TheYBF, the self-proclaimed “Ice Cream Man” is addicted to “lean,” a concoction that includes codeine, promethazine among other flavoring ingredients such as Sprite or Mountain Dew.

Gucci Mane seemed to blame his erratic behavior on the drug’s effects, and said he’s now going to seek help for his addiction:

It’s very hard to understand what an addict may be trying to relay to the masses via social media. Although Gucci apologized to folks for lying, it may be more important for Gucci to find the source of his pain.

Hopefully rehab will help Gucci reach a point where he feels comfortable sharing why needs drugs to express his emotions, but I’m sure all concerned parties will learn about it on his new album he promoted during his apologetic tweets.
