Everyone knows that drinking coffee after 6 p.m is a definite no-no if you plan on getting a good night’s sleep. But there are other foods that could keep you awake at night, and you probably don’t even realize it.

Many foods contain natural stimulates, other than the most infamous one known as caffeine.

A lot of people may not realize that the foods they’re eating after 6 p.m. is the actual culprit in their sleep deprivation issues.

The following 4 foods should not be consumed, if you plan on catching some z’s.

  1. So what *is* good to eat before bed? A banana? A small cup of plain yogurt w/ fruit? A cheese stick and crackers?

    I think a good alternative to alcohol is peppermint or chamomile tea. Chilled in the summer, warm in the winter.

  2. Cheese and wheat crackers—whole wheat—is always a good bet. For drinking before bed, I like a double-milk steamed decaf java or tea
