Spicy foods

Spices may be a natural cure-all for a range of ailments, but when you’re craving something to eat late at night, step away from the hot sauce.

Spicy, peppery foods may upset your stomach, and not only that, chemicals in spicy food can stimulate your senses, making it hard to fall asleep.

  1. So what *is* good to eat before bed? A banana? A small cup of plain yogurt w/ fruit? A cheese stick and crackers?

    I think a good alternative to alcohol is peppermint or chamomile tea. Chilled in the summer, warm in the winter.

  2. Cheese and wheat crackers—whole wheat—is always a good bet. For drinking before bed, I like a double-milk steamed decaf java or tea
