Lil Wayne is “doing better” after an in-flight medical scare on Thursday afternoon that forced the Young Money rapper’s plane to make an emergency landing in Texas, this according to MTV News.

The New Orleans native is the second rapper in a year to suffer at least seizure-like symptoms. If you remember, Miami-based rapper Rick Ross suffered multiple seizures while on commercial and private jets.

After Weezy had suffered from seizure-like symptoms on a private jet, the craft landed in an undisclosed location in Texas, according to TMZ. From there, he was taken to a local hospital and treated for several hours before being released around 6 p.m. local time.

Although nothing has been confirmed or rumored, what is not in question, especially in Ross’ or Weezy’s cases, is the prevalence of the former rave drug, MDMA powder (Molly), in and throughout the hip-hop scene in recent years.

Although there is little reason to believe the violent threats embedded in Wayne’s and Ross’ lyrics, we can take their accounts of drugs, orgies, and ostentatiousness more seriously.

Ross waxes poetic about Molly, suggesting that it’s a way to help ladies enjoy his company:

I’m the life of the party
Let’s get these h@*s on the Molly

Similarly, Lil’ Wayne, who is open and honest about his drug use for the most part, talks about Molly, but unlike Ross, in these lyrics, Wayne suggests that he’s the user.

Pop a molly, smoke a blunt, that mean I’m a high roller
My ex wanna work it out, b!#ch, try yoga

Seizure or seizure-like symptoms are most commonly exasperated after a person is deprived of sleep. Lots of professional across industries, including doctors and lawyers, suffer seizures, usually not from recreational Molly use, but from stress, which can lead to sleepless nights and unusual sleep patterns.

Studies suggest that more people die from lack of sleep than any other known cause, but since it’s almost impossible to attain reliable statistics on sleep deprivation, and since it’s bad for the economy to highlight studies like these, most deaths are attributed to easier classifications such as obesity or cancer.

TMZ updated Lil’ Wayne’s condition:

Lil Wayne’s rep tells TMZ … Wayne was treated for a severe migraine and dehydration.

The rep adds, “He is at home on doctor mandated rest and will return to work soon. He appreciates all of his fans for their support and love.”
