Pants/Shorts

Turns out, this one’s not as simple as you might think. I ran for a while in some stretchy exercise leggings, only to discover how much heat they were actually keeping in my body when I switched over to a brand that had a more breathable, moisture-wicking fabric. World of difference. If you’re going the shorts route, please just make sure they’re long enough that you’re not going to get the dreaded “chub rub” on your inner thighs. FYI, it doesn’t mean you’re fat. It just means you’re a normal girl–not a waif. Let’s clear that up right now.

  1. Safety gear! I run when its dark (its always cooler then), so make sure you have on something that reflects and a small hand-strapped pepper spray (http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpage-SPRAY.html) or something!
