Find a good farmer’s market

Farmer’s market produce is most often fresh out of someone’s garden or farm. Buying locally grown food has an added benefit because it cuts down on the amount of travel time your groceries take to get from the farm, to the market, to your table. Therefore, market produce is typically cheaper and will noticeably last longer in the refrigerator, as opposed to “fresh” foods from the grocery store. No chain store price mark-up means more savings for you.
