The fastest man on the planet, Usain Bolt, achieved that goal by defending his 200m Olympic title in typically incredible fashion, narrowly missing his own Olympic record by clocking 19.32sec.

It was a Jamaican trifecta, with his training partner Yohan Blake second in 19.44sec and youngster Warren Weir taking the bronze in a personal best of 19.84sec.

Bolt holds the world record for the fastest 200-meter sprint, clocking in at 19.19 in 2009. He won for the same event in the 2008 Olympic Games and that year he went 3 for 3, winning the 100-meter, 200-meter and 4×100 relay while setting a world record for each of them. His 2012 win for the 200-meter just made him the first man with two Olympic medals in the 200-meter sprint.

American Wallace Spearmon, who was the only U.S. competitor in the final, finished in a disappointing fourth place.
