With McDonald’s being one of the sponsors for the Olympic games, one would think that all athletes are fueled by meat and not to mention fast food. There is of course a long standing belief that you must get your protein from eating animal protein especially if you’re an athlete. There is more information and research coming out lately, however, that proves this isn’t the case.

We just recently tackled the protein myth here on Frugivore, profiling some vegan athletes who are fueled by plants! With the Olympics in full-swing, let’s take a look at some more athletes, past and present, who are wearing their vegetarian or vegan badges and bringing home Olympic medals!
