For some actors and actresses in Hollywood, the phrase, “aging gracefully,” isn’t something out of a movie script. Good genes, healthy lifestyles, and active fitness routines have kept a bevy of women over 40 looking as stunning as they were when they were in their twenties.

Here are three women over 40, whose faces and bodies are to die for:

Halle Berry

One word can only be used to describe her: Gorgeous. As if she isn’t already the pinnacle of beauty, Halle Berry continues to stun everyone with her grace, talent, and poise as she ages. The actress credits being diagnosed with Type 2 for her amazing looks. In a past issue of Vogue, the 45-year-old, said, “I do not love to work out. But if I stick to exercising every day and put the right things in my mouth, then my diabetes just stays in check.”

Nicole Murphy

Cast member of Vh1’s Hollywood Exes, 43-year-old Nicole Murphy has the body of a model who’s just beginning her career. Except she’s already had 5 kids, recently started a jewelry line, and has abs to die for!

Jada Pinkett-Smith

Jada Pinkett-Smith is not only a wife to movie star Will Smith and a supermom to her talented children, Jaden and Willow Smith, but she stays fit and trim, with a healthy diet and regular workout regimen. In recent article in ESSENCE, Jada gave the credit for her bangin’ body to her grandmother, who she said instilled a sense of dietary discipline.

“If I could have French Fries and pizza every day I would really live off that. My real diet though, well, I don’t eat for pleasure. I probably had the only West Indian grandmother that could not cook. [Laughs] She was an awful cook, and she taught me that you don’t eat for taste, you eat for nourishment. And I have kept that over the years, so I can eat anything that’s healthy. I eat for my schedule so I have to eat high-protein, lots of greens and healthy carbs so that I don’t fall flat on my face.”

  1. I love Jada, but I wonder at times if she needs to have a little more meat on her bones as she gets older. Is she naturally small or is she working out like hell to stay like that? I’m afraid she might start looking frail and sickly instead of vibrant as she ages and I’d hate to see that because she is so pretty.

  2. 3 is such an odd number – Surely there are more hot black women in their 40’s that could have been featured. I have never come across and article that just listed 3 of anything. Thats very random and not very fulfilling for the reader. It just seems like something is missing from this article. It just fails to deliver.

    • @Nila: We can’t list everyone!! We just picked three women. We will have more articles that will list Stacey.

      • I don’t expect you guys to list every single woman that falls under this category – but when you tackle such an interesting and broad subject, it helps to have a healthy number of examples to back it up. Just spotlighting 3 women leaves the reader feeling like something is missing and that creates a level of dissatisfaction.

  3. You should definitely put Stacey Dash on this list. Every time I see her I push back from the table ASAP.

  4. I agree with 3 being an odd number. What about Nia Long? Garcelle Beauvais? Salli Richardson-Whitfield? Robin Givens? Stacey Dash was mentioned, I would even include LisaRaye. There are many black actresses in their 40s who can serve as good examples of “aging gracefully”.

    • @Mo: There are. But, this is just one article where we list just three. Thanks for your comment.

      • @Shane Roberts: Maybe this could be an on going series!! The writing is not bad so I don’t know where folks are coming from saying its a “bad” article. But there is just more ground to cover! Black is beautiful at all ages and I hope the comments are really reflective that we just want to see more of that Beautiful black don’t crack evidence!

      • Oh, I think we all understood you can’t name EVERYONE, but I think everybody just clicked on the article expecting to see a few more examples of fabulous and there were just three. No problem with the article, I think we just wanted more!

    • @Mo: Oh I shoudl have hit reply to @Mo’s comment.

  5. Nicole Murphy ~ 5 kids???!!!! That’s all.

  6. Stacy Dash!

  7. What about Sanaa, Taraji, Nia and Regina?

  8. Great article and great inspiration. Honestly I find it odd when people are so surprised when people look great in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and beyond. I see it all the time, but I guess being in LA factors in to that. One thing I do find consistent among women that continue to look great as they get older is a consistent and strong workout regime. All it takes is staying active, a lot of people let that fall by the wayside as life responsibilities and time constraints increase with age.

  9. JANET!!!!!!!

  10. I appreciate the information but this isn’t an article at all. These are simply comments about each of these wonderful ladies. Unless I missed something, it would have been helpful to know what they do to stay in shape. With the resources that they each have, it could be cosmetic surgery or anything else that keeps them in shape. I like knowing how women over 40 keep it together, not that they’re just in shape…how’d they get there.
