President Barack Obama and The First Lady Michelle hosted the annual White House Easter Egg Roll yesterday, April 9th, joining tens of thousands of youngsters and their parents in a day of racing, reading, sports and crafts on a breezy, sun-splashed South Lawn.

Basking in the splendor of what some scientists are calling the “hottest spring on record thus far,” The First Lady, exclaimed, “It’s a beautiful day — perfect weather,” enthused Mrs. Obama. “There’s something for everyone … I hope you put on your comfortable shoes.”

According to the Associated Press, the Obama’s honored the traditional ceremony, which President Rutherford B. Hayes implemented in 1878, by sticking with easter rolling races but jazzed-up the event with new obstacle courses, book-readings, musical performances, cooking with celebrity chefs, and clowns galore.

The President even had a yoga garden in his Easter event (take that detractors who think yoga is religion!).

The theme of the event was “Let’s Go, Let’s Play, Let’s Move,” encouraging physical activity as part of Mrs. Obama’s initiative to counter childhood obesity.

Surprisingly, the movement came from President Obama, who participated in a game of “Shoot for Strength” with kids and The Harlem Globetrotters. Dealing with America’s numerous issues must have taken its toll on Obama’s basketball game, as it took him eight shots to make a bucket, but the Chicago politician left no debate about whether or not he stays fit, performing perfect-formed push-ups on the blacktop!

Obviously winded from the spectacle, The President admitted, ”I’m all pushed-up-out!”

Looks like another fun-filled holiday at The White House. Check out your President doing push-ups below:
