The weather is warming up and it’s almost that time of the year again: Swimsuit season!

But if you’re like me, you might not be really ready to drop your jeans and lounge by the pool or the shore in your hottest two-piece. Don’t get me wrong … I’ve been working out lately, but the confidence it takes to pull off a bathing suit can send some women into therapy — or at least into a pair of biker shorts.

Even if you haven’t been working out all winter, you can still rock a swimsuit when the weather warms up, because one of the sexiest things a woman can own is not her cover-up (although they help) or a sundress, but her confidence, which in many cases, isn’t easy.

But how can you get more comfortable and actually enjoy the summer fun? Keep these 3 things in mind:

Find the right suit: Don’t settle for the first swimsuit you see. And don’t buy a suit just because your girlfriend looks good in it. Try on as many as possible to find the one that  looks best (and offers the right amount of support) on your body type.

Invest in a cute cover-up: Even if you’re a perfect size 6 you may be a little hesitant to drop your towel and show off your bathing suit. A cute (and comfortable) cover-up will not only make you look fab, but it’ll also give you more control over just how much skin you want to show.

Relax & have fun: At the end up the day, you don’t want to miss out on having a good time because you’re obsessing about how you look. Once you find the right suit for your body type, relax and have fun. I promise you, just like you’re obsessing about your body, another woman (or man) is freaking out about their suit is well.

Are you ready for swimsuit season? How do you get ready for the summer?
