New York rapper and actor Dark Man X, better known as DMX, has a lot to say about the state of Hip-Hop now that he’s free and apparently drug-free. The former chart-topping rap superstar went particularly hard on Miami rapper Rick Ross, formerly of the Dade County Correctional Officer Unit. DMX feels Ross’ lyrics do not reflect positive masculine tropes, especially when it comes to weight and eating.

DMX was quoted saying:

“Rick Ross ‘looks’ more like Biggie,” X said, speaking to “Breakfast Club” co-host Charlamagne Tha God. “[He’s got lyrics?] Well I guess, I guess, I guess.. I’m not impressed. … He’s aight, man, he just talks about eating, [and] girlfriends too much. How much can a n*gga eat? How much weed can you smoke? Like, aight. Let’s talk about something else. I know you got the Maybach, the Ashton Martin, OK. Good for you, d*mn. Come on. I see a whole ‘nother side of the coin, son.”

Wow, that’s a lot of criticism coming from DMX. But he does a have a point, Ross loves his food.

Disregarding the national obesity epidemic, Ross — who is morbidly obese himself — couldn’t miss an opportunity to capitalize off providing cheap food for the city of Memphis, which is where invested in his first Wingstop franchise.

But that’s his prerogative, right?

Ross — who, like most rappers, is a walking, talking product placement ad — tells AllHipHop.com:

“After tasting Wingstop’s signature lemon pepper–flavored wings in Miami, I knew this was a franchise I wanted to add to my investments.”

Ross is just trying to keep up his payments on all his cars, diamonds, and homes. Can’t knock the hustle.

On another sour note, DMX says he doesn’t like Drake’ face. Wow … someone woke up on the wrong side of the Billboard charts that morning.

“No, no,” X said when asked if he likes Drake. “I don’t like anything about Drake. I don’t like his f*cking voice. I don’t like what he talks about, I don’t like his face, I don’t like the way he walks, I don’t like nothing. I don’t like his haircut. I might just — let me shut up. Stop right there.”

  1. LOL! Tell them how you REALLY feel Earl…

  2. Ok, first off….DMX can’t comment on anyone’s health as a former crack head…yeah, you were skinny, but crack probably kept you that way (and this is not in defense of Rick Ross, the beard is too weird). I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with the Drake statement…he looks funny..his voice is lame…I just can’t take it.

  3. I hope DMX can drop something meaningful, just debut at number 1 (again) and make the heads realize why he crushed hiphop before…. Good he got his sh*t right, he’s a top 10 rapper even if he never drops another verse. Someone needs to get at Rick Ross, can’t believe all these heads (not true heads) can say they are following this dude. If this guy was working lock up, how did he the industry let him skate?? I got nothing to say about Drake, except he’s R&B not rap. Beefin with Common, heard his Daddy saved him at the Grammys, told Common to talk it out with his boy. I’m still laughin over that story. Hope that one is B.S. but whatever. Too many studio thugs. Ask him about JD Era Toronto’s best rapper. I will put up a few grand of my own money to see these dudes battle and settle this shit. JD Era will expose this dude.
