One of the hardest parts of working out is always getting your abs tight and right. Getting rid of that little pooch stubbornly keeping you from having a sexy six pack can be painstaking to say the very least. Recently Rihanna’s personal trainer Ary Nunez gave up his tips for keeping the Bajan pop star’s abs rock hard.

According to Nunez:

“Rihanna is so connected to her body. She used to work out because it was part of her responsibility, but now she works out because she loves it!”

Nunez says he keeps her body and abs in tip top condition by focusing on core muscles with multiple repetitions, using a mix of martial arts, dancing, and calisthenics during workouts and keeping starches and protein separate. “You shouldn’t mix starches with protein because there is an enzyme that exists for the processing of starches, and an enzyme that exists for the processing of protein—and they don’t get along,” says Nunez.

Of course we can’t all have a 24/7 trainer like Rihanna, but that doesn’t mean getting rock hard abs is impossible.
