Anyone that wants to feel good and look good knows it takes a little sweat to get the results you want. Most of us fall into two major camps: those that hit the gym and those that hit the play button their DVD players.
When I do work out, I much prefer the comfort of my own home to a gym. I love being able to roll out of bed and on to my yoga mat, without having to fight anyone for bag storage space. If I want to mix it up with hoop dance (no judgment), I just change DVDs. And to be honest, working out in a room full of really dedicated, focused, cut people makes me, a novice, feel like the biggest dumbbell in the room. Besides, gym memberships tend to cost a bit more than I have in my budget.
But at the same time, I know the things that keep me away from the gym are what keep gym rats coming back. They offer the chance to be around people with a shared interest, and in women’s gyms like Curves, a supportive group environment. People also feel motivated to go if they’ve already invested something. Pay that month up front and see if you don’t feel guilty for not going. Plus, gyms keep customers satisfied with up-to-date equipment and plenty of class options.
