Capitalizing off America’s obsession with instant gratification and quasi-energy, 50 cent is doing something very American by merging his business acumen with his philanthropic endeavors. The megastar rapper has partnered with Pure Growth Partners to launch a charitable energy drink called “Street King” that will help aid in combating world hunger.

According to Pop Crush the self proclaimed, one-time “King Of New York” is putting the sells of his caffeine-laced drink to good use:

For every purchase of Street King a portion of the sales will go to providing a daily meal to an underprivileged child around the world. The partnership coincides with 5-0, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, mission statement of feeding a billion people in Africa over the next five years. That’s a very noble action, but hopefully he’ll let some that money trickle down to the 1 in 3 children in his native New York, who are starving.

Chris Clark, the founder and CEO of Pure Growth Partners is giddy over his partnership with “Fiddy,” especially when considering that the Queens rapper is a health nut, which helps sell caffeinated drinks to healthy consumers: “50 Cent and I share a common vision: To address the world’s problems through smart and sustainable business models,” said “With the rampant starvation in Africa and hunger afflicting children worldwide, we need socially responsible businesses that affect real change now more than ever.”

50 concurs stating, “I’m inspired by [Clarke’s] vision and innovative approaches to tackling serious issues. It’s our mission with Street King to really change children’s lives around the
world.”

The Street King energy drink will be available in September in Orange Mango and Grape flavors retailing between $2.49 to $2.99. The product claims to contain 100 percent natural flavors, no artificial colors, and made with a natural source of caffeine. In addition, each shot has no calories, carbohydrates, or sugar, and is fortified with gingko balboa and vitamins.

50 is also launching a full interactive online campaign with Street King in September. He’s encouraging his fans to register at Street King’s official website.
