It’s been incredible witnessing the growth and feedback on Frugivore’s Black Female Vegetarian Series. Dozens of women have reached out ready to tell their stories, encouraging others to stick with or take up a meatless lifestyle. Inevitably, the news would spread to their male counterparts. And so the question came, “Do you accept profiles from men?”
Of course!
We’re proud to announce our new profile series, Black Male Vegetarian, which highlights black men pursuing meatless lifestyles. Often, women are depicted as the sole advocates for good nutrition. But of course, there are men challenging this stereotype everyday.
If you’re interested in being profiled, please email arielle@frugivoremag.com with your name, age, occupation, location, website (if you have one), picture, and answers to the following questions.
How long have you been vegetarian, vegan, or pescatarian? And what inspired your journey?
Has vegetarianism, veganism, or pescatarianism enhanced your health? Why or why not?
In retrospect, how do you feel about meat? Or do you have any thoughts on America’s meat industry?
Was there a community of black men that helped you along your meatless journey? And if not, what are you doing to change this for others?
I hope this will bring to light the issues we as black men are having with are health. I cannot stress how much vegetarianism has helped me overcome my illnesses and lifted my overall brain functions. This country and everywhere else in the developed world are trying to damnest to dumb us down through chemicals in our water, food, and environment.
I’m glad someone is speaking out for men!
