This statistic surprises me because of all the alcohol marketing entrenched into the global sports culture.  You cannot go to any professional or big-time collegiate sporting event in America without seeing an advertising for alcohol.

The fact that only one in twelve leave events “loaded,” and considering that most of drinking goes on before the game, during tailgating functions, suggests many people get out the parking lot before the game ends, before having to be subjected to harassment from police officers.

Alcohol related deaths are consistently on the rise.  I can only hope fans try to be safe through the rest of the NFL playoffs!
