We can add “junk” food to list of things that make us depressed. Spanish researchers have found a link between “junk” food and depression. In a Discovery News article, they quote with researcher’s discovery with the following:

Participants with an elevated consumption of trans-fats (fats present in artificial form in industrially-produced pastries and fast food…) presented up to a 48 percent increase in the risk of depression when they were compared to participants who did not consume these fats,” the head study author said.

But really, do we think that whoever made that infamous grilled cheese burger-melt enjoys life. Boy, this week has not been good one for fast-food companies, particularly Taco Crack Bell.

Considering I am getting over my own depressed state for the umpteen time, I hope fast-food restaurants come even harder for black history and offer some consolation prizes like, free Luther Burger’s with every purchase of a ten dollar Wal-Mart gift card, or maybe if I am really lucky, someone will pony-up some endorsement cash to Jennifer Hudson so we can have some fries or chicken wings deep fried in the fat she lost while on Weight Watchers. As long as they can guarantee it’s trans-fat free, I’m good! Now that would be a dream, girl.
