Derrick Jensen is one of the most important voices in the American environmental movement.  Most of my philosophy on health, nutrition, and advocacy comes from the foundation he laid in his book Endgame.  Please check out this interview with him at Food Freedom.

Let’s start today, building a future outside the industrial nightmare we are in now.

  1. I think this guy takes it too far when it comes to environmental issues. Please spare me with all that “the world is coming to end” propaganda…

We are not in that bad of a predicament. We will come up with some solution to allow civilization to thrive.

  2. Johnny- pick any environmental benchmark and research it. We’re destroying the land base. Sure it’s resilient, but only to a certain point. There won’t be “some solution” as there are a multitude of problems. Topsoil loss, species extinction, pollution, peak oil, peak water, and on and on. I’m not sure what research you’re looking at, but environmental problems are that bad. Quite simply infinite growth on a finite planet cannot work. I’m not sure if this is the case for you, but many who are thinking of “some solution” are hoping that advanced technology will solve our problems. This technology will require industrial civilization, which has brought us to this dire situation in a heartbeat. Not to mention that these technologies have also been the cause of our problems.
